So Ive been looking at getting a new COND. Mic for vocals "mainly".
Ill most likely experiment with it for guitar cabs, acoustic, bass, anything really.
I'm kinda looking for something under $400.

I stumbled across the Blue Spark, being in my price range, and seeing a couple reviews, I thought maybe this company would be something to look into.
I'm also looking at the Bluebird, and even more so, the Blue Baby-Bottle!

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on these mics, if they've used them and have any thoughts on their best uses.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a good cond. mic for under 400$, my ears are open!

Ive been using a decent MXL-770 (was something like 50$), and I like it, but I wanna try something new, see if I can better my sound even more!

Thanks in advanced!

blubird

great mic... i use it for loud guitar cabs, vocals, and room mic... the pop filter is pointless... it doesnt work, but it looks cool... I cant really get into to much because I've only used it maybe ten times... in hindsight... Its kinda difficult with vocals because of the dynamic changes or maybe just the popping... !! I havnt used it for vocals in awhile ,, I like my blubird tho

p*h!

Blue Baby Bottle

I have a Baby Bottle and it is great on vocals, guitar, as an overhead, and most anything really. Nice little warm sound. It's self noise is so quiet at 5db that it is perfect for the soft subtleties of fingerpicking etc. I'd rate it best mic at that price.

Blue Baby Bottle

Blue in general are grate mics, especially for the price. I have the honor of knowing one of the man who designed electronics and handpicks the tubes for preamp. They sometimes tend to be over bright / harsh for already sibilant voices, but by placing the mic above in an angle can help.

One of the mics what I love is the enCORE 300, for the price - nothing like that in transparency, clarity and depth. I had a chance to test a custom prototype before the production, for a fellow musician who was looking for a mic, and he bought the prototype.
