So I'm a stringed Instrument player in all honesty, playing Guitar and Bass mainly, with a little piano, Violin, and Cello.
I'm trying to write drum parts for for rock music most of the time, and all I have in a midi controller keyboard with 8 drum pads on it.
I'm not so much unable to drum with these pads, as much as "I can never figure out what to play and when!"
If anyone has some tips in helping me get starting in putting down a part, itd be helpful!

Allot of the time these days I will put down something as a rough track to get rhythm, then Ill drum what I want to where I want to, then add "pre-made" Midi drum fills from my AD or SI drum collection software.
Nothing wrong with doing this way, but It feels a little cheap, I want my music to be an extension of my creativity, not someone elses!
